Thats the "crack" that gave me an improptu swimming lesson last year, but it did'nt matter anyway as I was soaked to the skin to start with due to the rain, so I just got my bike washed off and freshened myself up whilst I dragged myself out. The "Crack" actually is a plate of concrete that has dropped about a foot lower than the surrounding concrete and is a bit of a shock when you see your forks suddenly drop downwards and you go flying into the deep pool upstream. I only spilt the beans to Chris this year about it as I was too embarrased at what I had done.

This year, I took the bridge, not that I bottled it  ::-).......but only because someone had  "parked" a car in the middle and sadly my saddle bag was just too wide  by half an inch to squeeze past and the water level was a lot lower as well this year, in fact a mere trickle compared to last year, and more chance of succeeding.
