How well does meths keep?

My main stove is a Trangia and im going to be able to buy meths at a cheap price. Im going to be able to get a 5l bottle of it for a decent price.
5l should last me quite a while, but 10l will last me even longer if i got 2 bottles of the stuff. Will it be alright stored in the bottle in the shed until i come to use it? It might be next year before i need it. I know the colour goes from it, which im not hugely bothered about, but will it deteriorate?

Yep to the above - but I have found that keeping it in a Sigg bottle for extended periods of time renders it colourless - as opposed to purple.
I don't think it affects it's performance.

Chap on ebay is selling 25 litres for £48.50 inc delivery.   That would last a few trips.

Mine should work out cheaper then that per litre. We have four 5l bottles coming into work, so there's not 25l coming but 25" could be a little too much. I think I'll grab a couple as I think I will struggle to get it as cheap again.

I still have some I bought more than 10 years ago, no change it still burns fine
and destroys food if you spill a drop of into a meal
