Umm, that's last year's calendar. 2024 dates aren't out yet.

Did anyone find out about the FNRTTC 2024 Southend ride date? I quite fancy doing that one, as it is so easy for me to get to / from, living near the Fenchurch St line.

Two things:
1. Calendar is here : https://www.fnrttc.org.uk/ride-calendar-2024 (https://www.fnrttc.org.uk/ride-calendar-2024)
B. No Southend ride

You beat me to it! :)

Now added to the YACF calendar. Wonder why I didn't get an email about it...

But there is a Maldon run
All they need to do now is move Maldon 12 miles south and I am in. ;D

I've not done a Fridays ride for years..... Can I get fit enough in time for April :-\

Why typical ?
I ask as a Friday's ride leader (Manchester-Morecambe and York-Hull in 2024, train strikes permitting).

Only you will know Andrew but (bias here), Manchester-Morecambe is in May and the section to Blackburn is very hilly. York-Hull is in late August (more time to get fit !) and is very flat.
Cambridge-King's Lynn is even flatter. Not my ride but I'm planning on being there.
Just sayin'...... ;) ;D

From memory Shoreham isn't that hilly. The North and South Downs stand between London and the coast but the South Downs are conquered by sneaking through a river valley. The North Downs these days tend to include grinding up Farthing Down, which isn't that gruelling, only a bit gruelling. The north face of the North Downs tend to be less steep than the south face. If the midway break is at The Edifice the next bit of business is Turners Hill, which is a it rude. After that the ride is mostly flat.
Do it

Quite fancy a group ride and no where near fit enough ever.

As has become the case for the last n years, typically I have a calendar clash for the Manc-Morec ride.
I don't think I could get from Morecambe to Druridge Bay before my swim starts. Mrs Google says driving: 147 miles / 2hr 43. Registration starts at 13:00 and the compulsory briefing 13:45. Hmmmm.

Because I have never wanted to do any FNRTTC before, and I really fancied doing the Southend FNRTTC this year, because I live close to the best Southend to London train route...

(Pencils in London to
Brighton (https://www.notanothercyclingforum.net/index.php?topic=1561.0) Ditchling Beacon, little London being a pain to get home from.)
(If only they'd go to Hastings.)
