garmin 810 poi removal

I have OSM maps on micro sd card which are great.
Recently POI have started to appear to the extent that the map is hidden under a snow storm of POI.

Any ideas ?

Build the gmapsup.img yourself using mkgmap, my wrapper sets out to do exactly what you are after with the "clean" style.

iirc, run "make dependencies" then "make". Might need to be slightly au fait with what it's doing under the covers if it encounters issues depending on your installation, I'm not sure how well it works on windows for instance.

Check the map settings. Try adjusting the options for "Detail" and "Zoom levels".
