I have to upgrade from my 350ml fuel bottle to a 600ml for a coming trip, but having ordered the fuel bottle, I've discovered it doesn't fit to well in the bottle cages I have.

Can anyone recommend a side entry bottle cage that works well with a slightly larger bottle than your average bike bottle.
Alternatively, what creative alternatives are there to transport a fuel bottle on the underside of the down tube ?

Never tried one myself, but it looks like it has potential. I'm tempted to put one on my own tourer.
Two of these arrived in the post today that I ordered for the front forks to carry small dry bags. I had a play with one on the down tube with the fuel bottle. It works, it fits, and it doesn't fowl the chain. Am now debating ordering a 3rd one.
So after a little bit of fettling I think I've worked out how to carry everything on the bike... except for the lock. Need to find somewhere to fit 1.5kg of folding lock...

+1, as I already had a Monkii Cage as a bottle-agnostic solution for my Brompton, and the Gorilla Clip was a nice easy way to attach it to the tourer without braze-ons.

Ordered a Monkii cage. Hope it arrives in the time amazon predicts. I could have gone for another of the Blackburn cages , but thought I'd try the monkii.

The version where you permanently fix a collection of metal to the bottle and then just slot it on to the fixing pegs which are kept permanently on the bike.
The Mark 3.
Initial fitting is a bit of a trial/puzzle cos it's a bit of traditional british engineering. And you might fear for your hands.
But once sorted it is solid as a rock.
I carry a one litre Trangia bottle in mine on the underside of a 26 inch expedition bike. The bike has bottle mounts there.#
Alternatively, if its only a 600 bottle and you don't want it on the underside of the bike, this might do:

Very high grade plastic of some sort which makes it flexible but strong/grippy. Additional flex comes from a sort of rubber band/bungee incorporated into the body of the bottle which if it were ever to snap could be replaced with thin bungy.

I use a 1L Trangia bottle mounted to a Bike Buddy under my downtube. It's never come off, even on dirt track. The Profile mounts are also very good, I use them as my standard bottle cage, but they'll happily take a 600ml bottle. I used to keep 1L Sigg bottles in them as well.
