I vaguely recall that it's illegal for the supermarkets to charge different prices in different locations; something to do with competition law and the market share that they have? They are allowed to charge more in the smaller convenience stores, but again those prices have to be the same everywhere.

Put the violin down and sort out the video.

I am in the process of changing from liquid laundry detergent to powder - due to both benefit to machine and reduction in plastic.

What's the benefit to the machine?

Using a bio detergent helps keep smells down. We use both liquid non-bio, and bio tablets, depending on the wash. You can also of course run a hot wash with bleach occasionally.

It would seem unfair not to tell you that the vendor in your link isn't the one I bought mine from - nor did I pay anywhere remotely close to the price shown - gimme a moment to dig out the name of my vendor.

Got to  say I was very happy with the speed with which he responded. Order placed Saturday /Posted Sunday.
Also I wasn't able to scan the Sparque code on the box to download the manual - A quick email to Евгений received a pretty much instant response.
Would do business with him again.

Seems there might not be a specific law on it but price-flexing, as it's called, "is frowned upon by UK competition regulators". Which might not be a good thing:

Nick, if you decide to shop with him, its worth bearing in mind that tracking only works up to the point that the consignment leaves Ukraine.
After that - nada.
Mine took around 10 days to be delivered.

ETA - Oh, and incidentally, mine was plug-in-and-play. It has more display modes than you can shake a stick at.
So far, I've not RTFM.
I've just let it get on with it.

I’m slightly drowning1 under the deluge of plates I need to keep spinning. Sooo much to do before I finish of Friday for two weeks.

Jan has come back from her weekly craft day in the library. The 97-year-old grandmother of one of the participants has just been admitted to hospital and has vascular demential.

Jan was explaining this to Phyllis and that they were going to knit squares to be made into a blanket for the patient. Phyllis said "I'm really glad I don't have that. Cast me on some stitches, please, Jan! Let's see if I can remember how to knit..."

Phyllis is 99.

She found it too difficult in the end as the knitting kept twisting. Not being able to see it must make it incredibly difficult, as P wasn't totally blind when she last knitted.

Underworld fan?

Best approach to soap dispenser tops seems to be to have re-fills available with a simple plastic lid, that can be swapped for the dispenser from your previous one.

Indeed but I don't see many refill bottles being available for my online shopping.
Sainsbury's do stock them so I don't know why they're not available online. But a bottle with dispenser from Wilko's is cheaper than a refill from Saino's.

What is available online is a function of what is stocked locally and varies, I believe.

Definitely. I sometimes do an order for us in the midlands and TGL in Sussex and what's available can vary between the 2.
Interesting. Do the prices also vary according to location? I'm pretty sure they do in physical stores.
I don't know, I haven't checked. I'll look next time I do both at the same time.

That was my first thought.  It was certainly my earworm for the rest of the night.

This reminds me of the time when T2 came out and Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo opened the podcast version of their R5 film programme with Kermode singing "lager, lager, lager..." A listener wrote in the following week to say she'd accidentally played back the podcast at half speed and reckoned it sounded like they were drunk.
"The future's all yours, you lousy bicycles."

Strolling up round the top of the village just now, we saw a complete class of primary-school kids running clockwise round the church. Dunno who's practising witchcraft inside, but somebody's on to them.

There was a clue in the Grauiad crossword today (the quick one) "   Gems — Mick Jagger's rollers?" My son (13) is peering over my shoulder, so I ask him "What's the name of the band Mick Jagger sings with?" "Errm... Maroon Five?"
 ;D

(Against this, he did tell me there were fourteen pounds in a stone, which I'm never quite sure of. What's a 21st century teenager doing knowing things like that?!!!)
