I find sunshine works well, especially if combined with salt water. A week on a beach, & the worst attack goes away completely. In winter, getting up high in the mountains for maximum UV is good.

Steroid shampoo prescribed by my GP is also effective, but not to be used all the time.

The old coal tar stuff used to work well enough, but was taken off the market. The chemists-only stuff you can get now isn't as good. Probably not as carcinogenic, either, but when my scalp's sore & red & weepy (luckily rare: itchy & flaky is usually as bad as it gets) I don't care: gimme the carcinogens!

Isn't T-Gel still full of coal tar and nasties?

(Disappointed of scabby-head-town)

Mine's been much better lately.

Have you tried soaking your scalp in olive oil, Biggsy? Gives a week mebbes without 'snow' showers from your head.

I do find sunshine (and maybe just exercise) helps too.  I'm being too lazy to get out on the bike enough.

Oily and greasy products aren't nice to use when you have long thick hair.  I'm seriously thinking of shaving it all off again just so I can apply Vaseline Intensive Rescue direct to my dome.  People won't recognise me, though.

Yeah. Slather it on. Rub it in. Sit feeling like a dressed joint for an hour. Wash it out.

Shave head, rub in VIR, go out and be embarrasingly outrageous. Get away with it cos no one knows who you are. What could possibly go wrong?

I seem to have brought the Aberdeen weather to Houston. It was all lovely and hot this morning, if a little humid.
Come out of the office this afternoon, it's been raining and it's frikkin baltic!

It's your fault? I've just been blamed for bringing Yorkshire weather to Houston.

Our office has digital thermostat-type heating/aircon controller devices upon which you can set a desired temperature.  This is As It Should Be.

Unfortunately you also have to tell it whether to use HEATING or COOLING to reach said desired temperature.     >:(

But do you get the cow-orkers who think "it's a bit cold", so rather than set it 1 degree higher and rely upon the cleverness to sort it out, they crank it up to full because that way it will get warm faster?

Unfortunately, Basil, the concept of tweaking is dead.
