I'd always assumed they were USAnian. Perhaps I knew they made wrenches, not spanners. I certainly didn't know they were based in Birmingham (not the one where they love the governor, I presume?)
The factory used to be right by Tyseley Station, so I'd pass it every working day and two minutes later I'd be in Acock's Green. Finbarr Saunders would've been on the floor by then.

The train's buffet thingy is closed (at 19:00!), so no chance to eat for a couple more hours and lunch got skipped due to work.

I spent ELEVEN HOURS sitting in a car on Monday and had less than 1.5 litres of coffee to get me through the day!

Oi, snails! I put my spuds and sunflowers up on the balcony to avoid you. How dare you either climb up or emerge from my well rotted compost to gorge on said flora. Did you hear that crunching sound? No? Ah, that would be me getting my revenge.

XTR bottom brackets are wank

They look lovely and tiny and black. The cups install easily

they are narrower than a normal ht2 cup, I've had to remove the feckers and install 1mm spacers to fill the gap. although they are 24mm axle, my chainset has had to thumped through the bastards to get the axle to fit >:(

Idiot me

I bought a wire cup for my angle grinder. The note on the outside said 'not for 115 or 125mm angle grinders'. I looked at it and reckoned it would fit on my grinder (125mm). Fitted it to grinder. Powered up, tried it. Blimey that's a bit hard to control. THEN noticed the text stamped into the top of the wire cup "MAX RPM 8500"

My grinder is 11000rpm.

Bollocks.

anyone want a wire cup for a big angle grinder? Max rpm 8500

And dear HR persons - no, it isn't alright to block book meeting rooms for weeks at a time and leave them substantially empty "in case we need to make private calls or do interviews". You have your own bloody room, replete with comfy (if off-puttingly acid green) sofas in for that purpose.

No, that would be the pavement on my street  >:(

It must be a dog toilet because it's certainly not fit to walk down  >:(

Why is it so hard to find an NHS dentist?  :'(

All I want is to be able to get my teeth pain free without needing to take out a bloody mortgage  :'( :'(

They're surprisingly prolific around here, and completely absent in other places.  I'm not sure what governs this.

Big conurbations, I think. Lots of 'em in London too.

You know when you get the framed pictures up and just need to get them all nice and level and lined up and then one of them falls off the wall and drops ten feet onto a hard wooden floor, bouncing off your head on the way down, before falling down a flight of stairs and smashing itself to bits on the hall floor?

Like that, only taking two other pictures with it in the process.

I think being in Wales is a major factor - free prescriptions, but no bloody NHS dentists.  It's not lack of actual dentists though, as there's about 10 within 5 miles of my house, but none of them take NHS patients at all (1 might take under 16s I think).  I've been on a waiting list for a practice 15 miles away for 8 months.  It wouldn't be so bad if the price differential didn't mean putting off having work done until it's agonsingly painful in the hope you'll reach the end of the waiting list (root canal is £42 NHS, £550+ private).

It's over £50 for the NHS one now, but yes it's a massive difference. You have reminded me I need to book a checkup with my dentist soon. :-\

I think if it's an emergency they have to see you.
The other week with mine I got a same day NHS appointment from a private dentist (till they discovered I was registered with a dentist 30 miles away). I had to ring the PCT, I think. Can't remember- I was distracted by pain.

The emergency dentist only needs to make it safe, not actually fix it.  The emergency fix was to drill it out partially and put stuff in to prevent it getting infected.  The next emergency fix is to remove it.

Our cat is happy having lots of flies to chase. I saw the bin-men on Monday, but it appears they just looked in the bin with the dead fox in it, rather than actually emptying it.
