... I was overjoyed to be given a paper copy of The List last night, delivered by the hand of OD.  ...

I am pleased my forward planning has received some positive feedback  ;D  Could I please labour one point, the forward planning I have done is merely a starting point and the info on the piece of paper dished out last night could change.  I would imagine that everything on my bit of paper will be covered by a thread on here so yacf is where you'll find the definitive info.

Wow!  That's a bit "Harry Potter" isn't it?

You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

I've heard from Mary Ellis this evening that seven members of Richard's family will be helping on the 'Richard Ellis Memorial' 200 and 100km Audaxes on 1st October. They'll be stamping cards at the Maglia Rosso and Mistley Place Cafes as well as helping at the finish.

Let's have a good ACME turn out  and from some of the 'usual suspects' that knew and rode with Richard.

Tom, is there a gpx for the 100k event?

I managed to survive almost a whole day on beer and ice cream this week!

Glad to hear he's home...

In other news, the ACME jersey got a good reception in Belgium

Am I the only one on the R/E 200?

Currently tippers on the 100km, Andyc33 & Bobb on the 200km list - more to follow I hope...

Having mailed Dunmow Velo yesterday, and seeing lots at the carnival tomorrow, I'm hoping for more from that quarter, especially on the 100km. EOLs accepted...

Wilkyboy is riding the REM 200km route check/helper's ride tomorrow, arrivee at the Angel and Harp Carnival Beer Festival in the evening, probably in time for the fireworks. Dunmow's answer to Hogmanay, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Notting Hill Carnival you know, it's all happening  ;D

It is VERY Belgian, as well as very ESSEX.

Yes.

(At least, I'm 95% certain it is, but you'd best ask Martin OTP for a definitive answer.)

No, you can only ECE a cal event (clue's in the name)  otherwise you would need to create a new DIY including your "ECE" bit plus the  mandatory bit....

Er, isn't Tippers asking about Eing a CE, but with the E bit being mandatory route? In which case I'm fairly sure you can, but check with Martin.

Currently tippers on the 100km,

You are, of course, right that trying to extend an existing DIY route or a perm simply results in you creating a new DIY, which you can declare as mandatory route if you choose.

Sorry  - yes, you can mandatory route the Extended bit of the ECE wrt to a cal event....... I blame red wine, antibiotics, XO and Roxy Music (in that order!)

Perhaps when I read all this tomorrow it will all make sense!  ;D

Great news!

A change of plan means I'm probably able to ride the 100k Rich Ellis event. I will drive over to Dunmow so will have room for another bike on the car if anyone would like a lift. I will confirm early next week.
