In the absence of The Bard I will take up the mantel of describing the events of last evening.

Firstly  :smug: :smug: :smug: O:-) O:-) O:-) 1:0 to Forward Planning TM.  We found ourselves in a previously unvisited pub, in a town a few of us had ridden through but never stopped in and a good turnout: me, Andy C33333333333333333333333, That Nutkin Chap (all lit up)  , jibbers and his shark bitten leg, slipgate, and Tomsk.

The Dog Inn looked like it might fall into the "shit pub but good beer" category but in actual fact was well busy with friendly people there for the well kept beer and conversation.  Given that we were at the Dog Inn I was worried we wouldn't have much dogging action but jibbers reports he's found a news site near Channels Golf Club.

The ride up there by the Witham peloton was brisk and wind assisted.  The wind on the way back wasn't as troublesome as I anticipated.

Anyhow, a very good evening all told.

Next week Forward Planning TM says we at The Compasses, LG; I can't imagine the proposal exciting much controversy, will the score next week be 2:0?   ;D

In other news, I was in the Orange Tree earlier this week and they were serving pickled walnuts.  A vegan option for the initiation ?

I can't say I've ever had a pickled walnut.  Were they nice?

I'm in the throes of adopting us a Canadian (prospective LEL rider) so I'll keep my eye out for a vegan as well (assuming the Canadian isn't vegan of course).

I think they'd probably give me epic wind.  Not that would put me off giving them a try.

When was the last time you saw someone behind OD ?

I always thought it was because he liked being at the back, now I know the real reason  :o

Very true Ted, I always thought he was at the back due to his Garmin lacking the correct navigational skills to keep on the pre plotted route

Don't dis OD and Fred, a spare tyre from the depths of Fred's saddlebag saved me from a very long walk home one night.

Did you notice how no one jumped in to stand up for OD but you crossed a line when you dissed Fred ?

Will ACME jerseys be available for perusal at this Saturday's REM?

Not sure how the ACME sizing works. I'm a 36-inch-ish chest so maybe small or x-small.

We have sizes L, XL and 3XL left from the last batch.  I'll bring those along, with my S [race fit] and M [club/pub fit] [38" chest] for anyone to try for size. The smaller sizes from XS are on order, along with caps.

That looks like some sort of magical bird. A bit Harry Potterish.
