I had such a great commute on Sunday morning!!  First off I caught up to a lone road rider on the downhill from Keston/Downe on the A233, and passed him at 43mph, at least 10mph faster than he was going.  He was down on the drops too, well tucked in, LOL!  I called out on your right a little way back, and heard him shout out what sounded like "Oh fcuk!!" as I passed.  Of course that's just the nature of a bent, rather than anything on my part, but still v. enjoyable.

Then I passed almost 200 cars queueing for Norman Park.  Made my day that did!

My best one ever was riding from Telford to Shrewsbury after work for the Shropshire Cycle Forum. I saw another road cyclist on a die-straight piece of the old A5. I seldom got the excuse to stretch my legs like this after work. I wound it up and huffed and puffed to catch the geezer up, it took several miles. When I passed him he held my wheel, neither of us could talk. We raced each other until we reached Emstrey roundabout and caught our breath to speak to each other. Had a really polite chat and a good laugh.

If I recall properly, we reached speeds of 38 mph. I'm not sure I'd have it in me right now...

Best I've done recently was burning out to Dungeness across the pan flat Rye marshes with a tailwind doing over 50kph. Not one car dared overtake me which was good since there was a ditch and lots of barbed wire to my left...

It's not that impressive a speed, remember this is a fast recumbent.  I did fail to push the record button on the camera, sadly, but at least I got the overtaking nearly 200 vehicles in 4min:

Only I wouldn't know what most of them were!  It was some sort of stinky old car show in Norman Park in Bromley.

Fastest today was 73.1 km/h which is a shade over 45 mph. Down the 1 in 7 into Much Wenlock before I bottled it, sat up and put the brakes on.
