'80s Peugeot Leader - English or Italian BB?
« on: 19 November, 2008, 01:33:40 pm »
I can't get the old BB out yet, and I need to know which way to give the spanner some welly without trashing the frame - and what replacement BB to buy!

And - yes I know it's been done before - 24.0mm seatposts. What's that all about then? Anyone know of a source of 23.9mm BMX posts? I know about Yellow Jersey Bikes' attempts to manufacture a replacement 24.0mm post, but that's on hold just now...

Look for numbers marked on the cups.  British = 1.370" or 1.375" X 24 tpi,  Italian = 36 mm X 24 tpi.

Or measure the frame shell width.  68mm = British, 70mm = Italian.

Thanks Biggsy - it's English! Saves me buying a new BB - I have a spare FSA English 110mm BB. Excellent!
