Haven't kept count... I think around 30-40 of them.

The hardest I've done: Hardknott, Wrynose, Bwlch Y Groes, Garsdale Head, Winnats pass, Bushcombe Lane (Book 2)

The most beautiful: Bealach-Na-Ba, Llanberis pass, The Burway, Honister pass, Gospel Pass (book 2).

My local: Dovers Hill, Edge hill (book 2).

Amazing, I’ve only done one of those you mention - Edge Hill. Have you considered downloading the App at all? It keeps count for you

37 according to the app.

I went through a spell of getting loads, sticking the bike in the boot on work/leisure trips and just doing straight-up, straight down.

Can't really be ar$ed any more.

Ha I did that too, the App now lists 525 UK ones if you download all the add-ons :S

The thing is I've done half of them before I was on Strava... I don't think I will ever go up to the Highlands to do Bealach-Na-Ba again... the journey is simply too long... it takes less to fly to Australia.

This is a fun challenge to do, if you are in the area... Bwlch-Y-Groes 3 ways:

Veloviewer also keeps track of them if you've used Strava. I have a grand total of, er, 3!

Does anyone know if the entire list of climbs on the 100 Greatest Climbs app has ever been completed? It totals 545  y my maths!:

By the looks of that map I've possibly bagged a few on the recumbent. Would need to engage in detail to be sure

On my phone it's Menu (at top of screen) - Leaderboards - scroll down to 100 Climbs.

There’s a new X-List off 100 climbs published on the App people!!

I purchased the new x-list, which has added itself onto The 'Original' 100 Greatest Climbs app, beside 'Another' 100 Greatest Climbs which was already there.

I have purchased a few others; Cycling Climbs of Scotland, Cycling Climbs of the North West etc but these have an app of their own.

Is everyone else the same?  It would be good if they were all on the same app

Mine are all amalgamated into the single App, are yours not?
How does my tally compare by the way?

And the answer is;

"If you have android phone then yes they are separate apps. they are only all together on Apple. I forget why my developer built them like this but maybe they can all be amalgamated in one at some point in the future."

The best climb is the one you like near your house. Everything else is nonsense. few of us have climbed the Stelvio or something unknown in the Andes.

I was for a infitesimal time a good climber. I climbed magic climbs without knowing it. So the best climb I have climbed out of condition or after a tough Audax is Heol Derwen, Radyr.

On that note, this, which I’ve done a few thousand times now. As opposed to The Lecht, which I’ve only done once.

The hardest I've done is Hardknott. My favourite is Winnats Pass because it's local and a beautifully brutal climb.

Save the effort, just read the “100 Greatest Climbs” backwards.

That's not quite accurate though. Hardknott is a great climb. The descent?  :o Hairpin bends, 30% gradient, it felt like I was about to go over the handlebars and faceplant for about half of the way down!

Whereas Fleet Moss, another of the 100? Steep singletrack road, but straight enough that the two times I've been down it I hit 89.4 km/h and 91.8 km/h respectively.

Meanwhile the Berriedale Braes don't feature on the climbs list, but are reasonably steep themselves. Unlike Fleet Moss, I only clocked 76.7 km/h on the descent. Unlike Fleet Moss, it has twists and turns, but sweeping ones, unlike Hardknott. Swooping around the final bend at 40 mph was an absolute delight.

It wasn’t meant to be a serious suggestion.  My favourite descents tend to be of the fast but more technical off-road variety.  Don’t get me wrong, I like a fast road descent but picking the right line on a fast and technical descent over rock and gravel is more challenging and therefore more fun for me.
