Ooh me and my cousin could probably bag some of the ones on York bypass then. We used to ride on the bypass on a weekend or a night as kids before it was opened.
Same! I used to ride the part between the Wigginton and Haxby roads, and over to the Strensall road. It was great to cycle on before they let the cars on.

You get double points for going under bridges when there's a train going over it.  Or over bridges while a train goes under it.  And triple points for freight trains.  And gadzillions for steam trains :)

You have to look long and hard for anyone who has ever been held up by shipping at Sutton Bridge, but we had to wait for two to come through.

If we are going to do trains and bridges, lets do it properly!

Which bridge is that? It is THE bridge.. All others have a number, this one stands alone.

Taken in my jim-jams (well, sort of...) this morning.

ETA: for the benefit of philestines/furriners who don't know, this is the Royal Albert Bridge, joining Saltash with Plymouth, and by extension, Cornwall with Britain.  I was on board 1C99, the Paddington to Penzance sleeper.

That's a very interesting bridge, it's solid concrete without reinforcing. If you inspect it you can see the shuttering marks. McAlpine built it.
