We moved almost 4 years ago and had a pretty good purge (and having about 20% of our stuff in a Covid-enforced self-store - at great expense - for about 5 months helped us see stuff that could go) BUT we (I really) have acquired woodwork workshop benches, machines and tools ... as well as garden machinery and tools as we now have about 6 times the garden.

We really must bite the bullet and get rid of some of the stuff that got to the loft, including my late (died Feb 2019) FiL's wartime RAF uniform (incuding the overcoat)

Items with sentimental value are easier to let go of if you take some time to photograph them. The more care you take making the photographs, the easier it is to then dispose of the physical item.
It worked for boxes of handwritten letters I'd kept for 25 years.
