Speedskating here, the 10k.
Surprise silver medalist of the 5k Lee is leading with 4 riders to go. Reigning Olympic Champion is loosing out, now fighting for 2nd/3rd spot with the World Record holder still waiting for his start.

What the devil is a wu-tang?  Apart from a popular beat combo?
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Total absurdity at the speedskating track. Kramer has a huge lead on the fastest time untill then, his coach sends him to the wrong lane. Every now and then a skater makes an error, but a coach, and above all, a perfectionist.

Ski cross now! It's a fight! It's Bond villain henchman tryouts! Hindmost goes in the alligator tank!

How long before the air ambulance is called? Not long - surely? It's Gladiators on Ice

Edit: Commentary of the day "The only way this could be more dangerous is if you gave them swords."  ;D

Calling the Jamaican, Errol Flynn.

I thought that was a tribute to the Jamaican bobsleigher in Cool Runnings who called himself Yul Brynner.

Some kind of new-age fanny that doesn't work very well?

Ski-cross looked painful on a few occasions last night. Ouch!

The 2nd video on this page shows the moment:
Sven Kramer Disqualified on mens...
His coach allready admitted guilt.

Dunno if any of you saw the NBC interview and follow up interview on Dutch TV from earlier?(IOC had the video removed from youtube)
Anyways, he's arrogant enough to make Cavendish look humble, so can't say I'm unhappy about it.

The BBC coverage I've seen has had no interviews, very disappointing.

So, not many chances of a further UK medal....

That's an understatement and a half... unless most of the four-man bobsleigh teams succumb to The Fear.

The Netherlands withdrew from the event last night.

How about the Fire on Ice Curling Calendar or... this one (mildly NSFW)

Here we go for the biggie, then: Canada vs USA for the ice hockey gold.  Should be an epic!

Second period.  Did Canada annoy the Americans with that goal?   ;D

I have to admire the jingoism of that American goaltender's helmet: an airbrushed muscled-up Uncle Sam, sleeves rolled up, an Olympic Rings tattoo on one bicep, about to swing the Torch like a hockey stick.  That's such glorious kitsch!

Right, here goes...

Sudden death. I'm happy to be a neutral. Sudden death is a killer.

I was at the UK Play Off Semis in the mid 90s, Steelers won the first semi, we stayed to watch the second semi, went to 2.5 periods of sudden death before a goal.

At least tonight htey will have one period then a penalty shoot out. Who'd be a goaltender. 90% mental, the rest is in the head.
