bone dry, windless and 1 degree in Edinburgh, but colleagues from the provinces (Innerleithen, EK) have told fanciful tales of lots of snow.

Hope it stays dry so I can get out on my bike tomorrow.

It's been precipitating gently since about 10 yesterday evening, with a short break around 5 a.m. but since 4 a.m. the temperature has dropped steadily from 5.0°C to 1.7°C at 9.30 a.m. It's now 1.9°C and the precipitation has some white bits in it.

Still no air frost in my garden since 19th March, although the wind chill factor this morning is around the -1 mark.

I did see a car with an inch of snow on the bonnet this morning. Probably from the Surrey Hills.

Half-hearted SNO in NE That London and into the part of Essex which, if it showed a bit more strength of character, could be Hertfordshire. It's settling on the occupants of the car park but not on the ground.

Sunny in Warwick! I was supposed to be meeting Polar Bear at lunchtime, but my eldest's school's heating system has put the dampeners on that...

We were said to be getting 5-8cm overnight, but it failed to happen & stayed as rain.

Bloody atlantic depressions - can't trust them as far as you can throw them. Not like the good, solid, reliable Siberian winters we get on this side of the country!

the world has turned on it's head, snow in Surrey but none in North Yorks?

I woke up to quite a covering in South Manchester but most of it has melted although it's stuck around on the cars and some roofs.

We are very close to Stoke & we have had moderate snowfall for the past hour or so. It's begining to build up on the roofs of cars & houses.It's not melting away on the roads as it was earlier.
The back garden is begining to look rather like a snow scene at Xmas.
