It snowed here yesterday and now the temperature have dropped to -8^oC. I have to put my Thorn with Rohloff in the basement from today.

An inch at my house, which is not on a busy road so doesn't get cleared. If I had walked my bike 500m to the main road, I'd have been fine to ride in this morning, but frankly ICNBA. The rest of the route awas a bit marginal anyway ...

OTOH 4 of us ran up Tom na h-Airidh last night in -$lots & snow with the dogs and spotted a couple of deer. Luckily it was towards the end so Mia & Ronnie (the Ridgebacks) were too buggered to chase them. Tara (the collie) had a go at herding them though.

Went for a walk up Stob Ban and along the ridge to Mullach nan Coirean yesterday with some friends from the mountaineering club. We saw the front moving in and felt the wind getting up on the way down. Got back to Glasgow and everyone is raving about the snow and having snowball fights.

Very slushy this morning though.

The kings house hotel webcam looks very nice today. About 8 inches of snow this morning!

I was planning a mull trip before Christmas.

Yesterday's thin layer of snow melted, then refroze overnight. The thick frost and ice are very pretty, shimmering like diamonds, but not much fun to be walking on.

About an inch here but stopped now - might melt soon.
Last Winter I bought some Kahtoola Microspikes and that really invoked sod's law - no ice or snow worthy of the spikes for the rest of the Winter! Perhaps I'll get a chance to use them soon.

Chelmsford is in chaos. One inch of wet snow since six ish. Not sure the Volvo will cope too well.

Seems to be a light dusting all around our area - Luton. MK, Aylesbury, Hemel, Watford. But it only fell for about 20 minutes and is slushy - presumably a warm front moving across. Glad of the winter (car) tyres just in case.

Light snow in Croydon, maybe half an inch to an inch so far, but still falling. Since the ground is so dry, I guess it's settling fairly easily. There was no sign of it last night, except that it was a little brisker than it has been when I came in (midnightish). I'm glad I popped into Asda to buy some milk then, rather than relying on quickly popping out now!

Time to swap over to the Marathon Winters I think!

... of course the capital will now proceed to grind to a halt, but on the plus side, it'll be relatively easy to put my bike in the bike store.

A bit of snow in Milton Keynes too, but now a bit of rain. Hopefully melt the bastard stuff.

Looks like the dog stayed out all night. Hope you dusted him down before taking him for his walk.
