That's my fault for putting the winter tyres on the bike last night. It'll be mild for the rest of the winter now.

There was some snow mixed in with the rain in Gosport this morming. Not sleet, but a mixture of fluffy snow, and rain. Its stoppped doing it now.

A light dusting on the car this morning in SN2, but very little else.

Apparently much heavier just up the road in Cirencester, for whatever reason - I can't figure it out, Ciren is at (broadly) the same altitude and is further north so I would have expected them to get less of it, not more.

I was riding in a little pretty flurry on Saturday, and there might have been a whole 5 mm here this morning at dark o-clock. All mushed up and gone from the ground, mostly, by 9, except on the paths when I walked to work.

Looking a lot like the widely announced Snowpocalypse of New York and Boston has been a bit of a no-show.

All our forecasts these days seem unduly pessimistic in the light of the actual weather that arrives. Inevitable consequence of years of public complaining that the weather-people didn't tell us about this or that storm. They are predictions on best evidence, not certainties. Complain too much and of course people will slant it towards the worst case.

I'm watching the USAnian headlines ATM - NYC "only" had 10" of SNO but Long Island had two feet with even more further north. Also 75+ mph winds and storm surges causing flooding. And another lot said to be on the way.

Ten inches of SNO in most of BRITAIN south of the Antonine Wall would be SNOmageddon,, and we'd all¹ die.

Looks like I'm about 100-150m too low for snow

Some of the higher fells will be looking pretty when the clouds clear I'd imagine but other than a few non-settling flurries there's nothing down at sea level.
