But has it snowed?

(PS) Meanwhile, in Embra, they're sending for the army.  (Cue images of Trumpton and Pippin Fort  :)). http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-11946220  I hope they have the collecting tins out for Help for Heroes.

Let it happen bass player…

Time flies by when you’re a driver of a train
Speeding out of Trumpton with a cargo of cocaine
I get high when I’m the pilot of a plane
Touching down in Camberwick I’m stoned out of my brain

Under bridges, over bridges, to our destination
Careful with that spliff Eugene, it causes condensation

Every Saturday I get the Chigley skins
And they always smash my windows ‘cos the home side always wins
Yeah, time flies by when you’re a driver of a train
Gonna get me syringes out and crank up once again"

There are ice floes on the Wye in Tintern today - locals are saying it's the first time it's frozen since 1984.

It's damn cold down there - it was 2 degrees colder at Tintern Abbey at 11 pm last night than it was here, and we're a lot higher.

My office building has a glass-roofed corridor running the length of the building. The front door is at one end of it and the back door is at the other. There are no other ways in and out of the building.

Today we heard a strange noise and thought "oh, maybe a load of snow just fell off" so went to look to see if the glass roof was clear. It was clear of snow but we noticed severe cracks in every pane of glass. We don't know how long the cracks have been there. They might have been there all week and we just hadn't noticed.

So we had to evacuate the building, we've scattered across the city to anywhere that has space for us and we don't know how long it'll take to make it safe for us to go back in. Annoyingly, all the Secret Santa stuff and a couple of tubs of mini cakes were left behind.

We rent the building and I doubt the owner wants to pay for repairs, so it'll probably just get chipboarded.

Snowball war has broken out on our street.  Unfortunately, while our upstairs window provides an excellent sniping position, we're taking heavy fire, and don't dare open it to collect the meagre half a snowball's worth of snow accumulated on the sill.

There's a guy out there wearing shorts, throwing snowballs with the arm that isn't in plaster.  Hardcore!

Take advantage of the week points, aim for the legs... ;D

We've had a very light dusting in Liverpool,  it's currently -1,  roads are clear but some pavements are treacherous.

My Kahtoola MicroSpikes are as yet unused...(2 mile walk to work, downhill on pavements that were not cleared last year)

What little snow & ice there was here has gone.  My Dad went AOT last week, twisted his ankle & grazed his elbow, so I've ordered spiky shoe things for him, my mother & sister.

Mrs. Wow and I went to our tai chi class in the car. V. disappointing.

The thermometer in the garden said +2°C. The car's outside thermometer said +3°C. There was a freshly frozen puddle in the road outside our front door, which was most definitely liquid before sunset.

The cycle path we would have used still has a fair bit of ice on it. I think we made the right decision.

Lots of dripping here today, and a couple of snow-slips off the roof.  It's thawing.

Drip drip drip this afternoon in York.  Temperature dropped again as I was riding home from the Bike Rescue but it's nowhere near as cold as it has been.

A lot of the ice has gone from the paths and roads in my part of Croydon, but there's still a fair bit around.  Certainly there's enough to slip on if you're not careful about where you walk.  I reckon in another day or two it'll mostly go, especially if there are any more sunny periods to help bump the temperature up a bit more.

I did pump the studded tyres on the snow bike back up to "normal" pressure.  The front was 30psi, and the rear was 40psi, but I've put them both back up to 80psi (I need to check more carefully on the sidewalls to see what the maximum allowed is).
Actually, it is rocket science.

Well, the snow (and the guttering) just came down from next door's roof.

I've lost one gutter already this year, along with the neighbours on both sides. Don't fancy it again.

A fantastic warm sunny day here :)

I cycled to Monmouth and back and the roads (even the lanes) are just about all ice-free now.  No snow at all; it's like a spring day.

Dull dampish day up in the South Wales/ Merthyr valley snow and ice are clearing but in some parts sidestreets are still icy under foot. I,m hoping weather is going to improve over the weekend as my cycling club have their annual holly run on sunday  :)

What happened? I have visions of the neighbours sliding off down a hill sitting in the guttering ;)

Possibly he had cast iron guttering and the neighbours were round carol singing?
It is simpler than it looks.
