This is the first day since November that we are able to look outside and see NO SNOW in the garden!

I think I may go for a short pootle this afternoon... Need to replace bottom bracket and cranks first though...

I have just received a message from a former neighbour informing me that the snow has come off the roof of our house in Wales and taken the guttering with it. Front and back.

It's all melted round here, apart from the odd patch of slush. However, I went out for a ride yesterday, and the resulting mud is MUCH less pleasant than hardpacked snow for riding on. Apart from anything else, I got covered in it, and needed to clean the bike when I got back.

It's around 7°C here today, but grey and murky.

The last vestige of David's snowman has just melted. It's been mild here for sevveral days.

The snowplough came round this morning and the driver included our drive in his route, which he is not really obliged to do, as it's private property. FiL had given him a bottle or two of homemade vodka! Worth it for him as the 'drive' is 270m long and if it's blocked, the nearest sensible place to leave his car is at some neighbours about 700m away.

When the plough had gone, it started snowing.

Pulling Little Cudzo home from school on the sledge, I slipped on ice - first time slipping while pulling. He avoided running into me.

According to the radar, there's an awful lot of precipitation in Scotland at the moment.

None at all when I originally posted, but there was what could charitably called a 'dusting' on the ground when I went to bed around 3am (damn these Australian cricket matches ) but what was there is pretty much gone now, at least around here. There was quite a bit up Scarborough way, apparently.

I noticed that when I was going into Sainsburys, but any lighter and you would barely have been able to notice that it was snow at all. It most certainly wasn't settling (or even making the ground noticeably damp).

If your snow tyres arrive, that'll guarantee that we get no more snow.

I've still got the studded tyres on the snow bike, which is the only suitable bike I've got which is currently working (due to a plethora of broken spokes). If I wasn't feeling washed out from lurgy, I'd probably swap the tyres back over to the bog standard cheapo ones that came with it.
