I must take a photo but keep forgetting. There is a sign about a 3rd of the way down the hill to Kirkham Abbey form the A64 that says "no footway for 1/3 of a mile". The thing is there is no footpath for half a mile before it and no footpath for two miles after it. No idea why the sign is there or what its purpose is.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Kind of like the "Pick up only" parking outside Tesco, which was quite useful when I had an L200.

The sign attracted exactly the sort of vehicle it describes rather than the type of vehicle it is meant to attract.

Been a passenger in one of those ^^^^ when the driver had pressed the appropriate button to give it the full 700+ bhp.  His was white though.

"There is no pandemic - ask any undertaker" in the rear window of a random car.

Sadly I'd left my "There are two - ask any epidemiologist" stickers at home.

camera wouldn't focus through rain on the windshield/windscreen, but I appreciated the understated sticker on the rear of a car ahead of me this week:

"pardon me for driving so close in front of you"

Won't 'riving the label' damage the strings?

Won't 'riving the label' damage the strings?

That was why it found its way here, but the remainder....

At first glance I read B9 as benign which looks like an embarrassing name for the Bucharest Nine.

Maybe it’s aspirational? The game is to be nine. One must go…

Seen today in a town twinned with Manningtree in Essex (my old stomping ground) somewhere in the Hoch Sauerland Kreis:

I don't have a picture, however this week I passed a couple of roadsigns saying "Cats eyes removed".  Seems rather cruel.

What did they expect was going to happen?

Also, from the department of not-sure-if-it's-silly-or-sensible, one outside a pub to the effect of "A pint costs less than a litre of fuel.  Don't drive, drink!"  (Didn't get a photo, the light was fading and it was a busy road.)

Definitely silly, as it is not actually true.

One of my favourite signs outside a pub was "Buy one pint for the price of two - get next pint absolutely free!"
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

There's a Wank Mountain near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You can go up it on the Wankbahn.

I've driven through both Wank and Oy, gave me much amusement as a small when on the way to camping holidays

I find this, outside St Pancras, thoroughly bizarre, although I suppose that I should have some sympathy for the local authority, who have presumably been driven (sorry) to distraction by road users not understanding more reasonable options:
