We still have much work to do regarding the very still sitting fishermen on the canal. There is just no way that she wants to go past them, not on your nilly, Nada, nope niet, bark and growl.

Could be worse.  Once upon a time we were a-walk in the Oxfordshire countryside when Dr Larrington's dog spied a fisherman.  Amon the tasty treats he had laid out on the bank ready to attract the fishies was a paper plate with most of a tin of Spam on it.

I don't think he'd set out with the intention of catching a Golden Retriever.

When Mrs. Wow and I arrived home from 24 hours away he was very pleased to see us and was quite vocal. This was quelled by giving him a carrot, whereafter Dez took him for his evening walk. Now he is lying peacefully a short distance from my chair.

Inspiring terror.

Seriously. Little Monster Cat, the better behaved of our two, has found a new toy. I think it's some kid of stuffed Red Nose Day thing that's somehow ended up in the cat toy box. It's bit big for her to chase around so has sat there for some time.

Last night, for reasons that I can only assume to be nefarious, she bought it up the bedroom. About 4.20am to be precise. I can be precise because at 4.20 am our bedroom was filled with a psychotic
HA HA HA HAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAA etc.

It's quite realistic and loud. Neither cat was bothered. We're still burning adrenaline. Neither of us knew it was one of those squeeze-activated things.

Laying on the living room floor* and is somewhere between sulking and missing. Sulking because: she can't get to the fat balls I hug out for the birds. Missing because: Peli is out of the house for the first time in two weeks.

* She only lays on the living room floor when she wants to moan at something - mainly us - or needs to cool down from the heat from the woodburner.

Lord Tigs, who has grown from an average-sized cat to a mini-tiger weighing aboiut a stone, is out shredding, having been asleep all day.

But here he is, relaxing on the stairs the other night.  See the slightly deranged expression?  That's the normal ginger cat face.

Pumpkin came of age today.... first bird in the house. Oh my, the growling, so much growling!

Thank you.  He was adopted at a year old, from a couple who were moving in together and one of them had a dog, They'd tried to make it work but the two animals didn't get on at all.  The people were hugely upset about it and actually in tears but, whe they came round here a month later to visit, Tigs was too busy stealing my lasagne to even look at them, and they realised he was going to be fine.

Unfortunately he is one of those Six Dinner Sid-type cats that gets fed all over the place and comes home smelling of someone else's perfume.  He's a complete tart and has been ordered not to get any heavier.

Emmie-the-orange-cat. She's had kidney failure for many months, but just as that condition got under control she developed a highly aggressive liver tumour with internal bleeding. She's lasted a couple of months with that, but it got to the point where she was starving away as the tumour grew, and the tumour pressed on her stomach preventing her eating.
