I was riding along the famous Prittle Brook Greenway heading for the LBS when I came across a young lady (stop sniggering!) with two basset hounds. One basset hound was in the concrete channel along with its owner, the other was up on the path. The trouble was, the lady in question was unable to get herself and her dog out of the stream bed.
I stopped and asked if she would like some help and she agreed that she would. So she passed me the dog, I held its lead in my left hand, offered her my right, and pulled her out. She was quite appreciative.
