Some clam cleats, following recommendation on here, by andrewc I think.

They haven't arrived yet.
It is simpler than it looks.

Actual cleats, like these, or pegs?

Tent pegs - they look great. Blue.

Can't wait to try them out, but will have to.

Those Y pegs are good. The only problem is that they can be a bit hard on the hands if you just push them in.

Y pegs make no sense. They offer nothing over V pegs.

I've just bought a Primus Trek Kettle as I wanted a frying pan.

IME they do as effectively having a 'spine' they are far more resistant to bending.

This is git scientific, I know, but I've got a dozen of each - 3 Y pegs are bent, 0 V pegs.

The weak point at the top is noticeably bigger on V pegs.

That's what cycle mitts and SPD cleats are for.

You push them in with the leather padded bit of your mitt then hit them with your cycling shoe.

Not actually brought it but my son has given me a belated birthday present of a Solar Competition 2 tent. He says it is for carrying as an emergency shelter if I can't find other accommodation.

Decided I didn't like the Solar with it's slow set up also never really been a fan of TN. Went back to where he got it from had a refund. then visited Trekitts in Hereford. There purchased a Hilleberg Anjan 2gt. If I am allowed an emergency tent it might as well be a good one.  They did a good deal and very friendly lot.
Most people tip-toe through life hoping the make it safely to death.

One stainless steel pot: MSR Alpine Stowaway 1.6L

I don't like titanium (I have one smaller pot) neither "hard-anodised aluminium" (my frying pan got completely bended in less than a week). So a bit extra weight but more durability and better heat transmission with this pot, I hope.

^this. The second moment of area must be better on a comparable sized Y than a V

Aye, it's good. Pan, mug, spork, lid, water bag. I'd even throw in a homemade pot cosy and windshield.

I wanted a frying pan lid, so I've moved to a Primus Trek Kettle.

Not bought: Made for us, which is so very kind.

Made by Hazel Constance, no less, the author of 'Gear For Outdoors & How To Make It' and 'Modern Lightweight Camping'.

DSCF1970 by TJ Clarion, on Flickr

Not sure how well you can see from that, but it's a camping cot, made from a self-inflating mattress with detachable sides held by lightweight poles, and it all fits into a tent bag.  There are even angled sides to replace the rectangular ones for when he grows and needs a childbed.

It will be coming out with us this summer, I think, if I get in any state to go camping.
Getting there...

You do know they crawl after about 8 months, don't you? (6 if you're unlucky).

You've seen our tent - there's nowhere for him to crawl to!
