You'd be surprised how many men have enormous testicular growths of various aetiology.  Hernias, hydroceles, tumours - you name it, blokes will ignore it.

My Grandad's testicular hernia is the size of a football, it affects his walking, but he refuses to have surgery.  Just a flesh wound is about right for his attitude

Some of us are right wimps, though, and get seen as soon as possible at the slightest thing that goes wrong.
