RAAM Fantasy Squad.

Watching Jim Rees struggle at the Mersey Roads 24 it made me wonder what a crack team of 24 riders could do. George Berwick would have to feature, just to see the organisers' faces, Jim Hopper on a trike, Steve Abraham on fixed, I've been racking my brains for a fourth, Gethin Butler would be good, especially if we can get him to reinstate the Mohican. Across the States on egg custards and Irn Bru.

What about the back-to-back recumbent trike tandem duo from Tavistock?

I'll check the rules, we might need a team of 4 back to back recumbents..... from Tavistock.

Watching Jim Rees struggle at the Mersey Roads 24
slightly OT:
what DID happen to Jim? I was highly disappointed not to see him - I was expecting him to pass me after a couple of hours (I had 20 mins start on him).

Another heat victim?

I had him marked down as likely to compete with Marc Vedrinelle as their Ironman Triathlon times were not dissimilar, he seemed optimistic at the start, especially as RAAM would have equipped him for the heat. When I saw him in the morning he said that he had underestimated how much RAAM had taken out of him. Marc Vedrinelle succumbed to a broken crank on the Quina Brook circuit on the Sunday morning. By that time I had failed to clock the developing battle between Joel and Steve Massey, they eventually finished incredibly close together at the same point, Steve was off 45 and Joel off 47.
