A combination of snow and the only bike currently in a functional state being the one with the least suitable tyres meant I walked instead.

I want to cycle today as I'm not sure getting the car out of our road/into my workplace road is going to be easy but I've woken up and yesterday's slightly sore throat and occasionally sneezing has transmogrified in something far worse.

Will take the car in I guess and hope I have a slightly easier day at work than yesterday.

Having changed the dodgy tyre on my bike and got down to my pants I realised I'd forgotten the bag with my cycling clothes, helmet and lights.  ::-)

I'm getting very good at hitting snooze without really becoming aware of it. Ended up taking the car instead.

Think I need a change of alarm tones :)

... I decided carrying the companies turbidity meter over bumpy Cumbrian country roads in a pannier was not that sensible, and I have to go to an off site meeting today.

Annoyingly the sun is beating down and there's no wind today :(

I have a gig tonight. Starting at 6.00!  So I need the time to get home, change and load the van.

Shame as it's the nicest day of the year so far...

Haven't cycled for a fortnight now. Been really manic at work, tonight is the first night I've actually left on time.

I guess I could have risked cycling but one of the nights I was nearly a full hour late leaving and just couldn't face being that late leaving with the commute to do as well.

So of course we've had great weather this week  ::-)

Still my manager is back Monday, so it won't be just me doing the work that the two of us weren't keeping up with before his week off.

I lost my company pass.... so its unlikely they'd allow me to leave the bike in the secure car park. So decided to travel in the tin with the other sardines today.

I'd left my rack and panniers in the office, rather than haul them around London on Friday night.

That was honestly the motivation, although I quite enjoyed the monday morning lie in :)

I had that on the ride home yesterday, and don't blame you ducking out it was nasty.

I can confirm that it was indeed a bloody horrid, stinging, icy kind of snow  :demon:

I could have commuted HOME today but...

Headwind.  Frightening lashing rain driving straight in from the Atlantic.  And I'd been up since 4am, and ridden in (with tailwind) through similar rain for an 18-mile trek, mostly off-road.

So I came home in a taxi, and have booked another one for tomorrow morning to retrieve my bike, get on a (steam) train, then trundle back Midlands-wards bidding a fond (except for the blinking weather) au revoir to Cornwall.

Rest assured that there's plenty of traditional bank holiday weather going on in the Midlands.

Got next to no sleep last night so was in no condition to trek to the closest hire bike stand that takes credit cards then navigate my way across Dublin.  Instead, I hailed a taxi. :(

If the weather stays as it is, I will try to make up for this morning on the trip back to my hotel tonight.
