Is there a name for the converse?

When I was little we used to visit a place called Fletcher Moss. This week I discover that there was a Mr Fletcher Moss who gave https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletcher_Moss_Botanical_Garden to the people of Manchester.

Ok maybe moss does sound like some bleaker than a botanic gardens next to the Mersey but it still seems like determinism to my ears.

Essex cricketer Charles Kortright (1871-1952) took 176 catches in his career.

There are some wonderful anecdotes about him. John Arlott believed that circumstantial evidence suggested he was probably the fastest bowler of all time. There was one occasion, apparently, when he bowled a not-very-short ball on a dodgy wicket and it flew straight over the boundary from pitching.

My favourite story was the occasion he bowled W. G. Grace, who, if out early in his innings, would stand his ground and say "All these people have come to watch me bat!" Kortright bowled him comprehensively. Grace tucked his bat under his arm with a harrumph and started to walk towards the pavilion.

"Are you going, Doctor?" enquired Kortright, "You've still got one stump standing!"

He was a very privileged individual, it seems, who once said "I've never done a day's work in my life!"

One for the antideterminism files, from Brazil - Carlos Wizard, new Secretary of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Health.

Then again, Clarke's Third Law states that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," so it could also be seen as being  deterministic. ;)
