Reminds me of The Joy of Stats with Professor Hans Rosling, and the wonderful Don't Panic documentary.

Was on yesterday* but we watched a rather wonderful and bizarre documentary about a film Saddam Hussein commissioned long ago in - well Iraq- starring one Oliver Reed - filmed just as the Iran-Iraq war started. Well worth watching - really quite bizarre with some wonderful stuff concerning Oliver Reed's usual antics, some rather disturbing stuff concerning that there war and how some of the crew managed to escape.

I watched Naked Attraction out of curiosity. I didn't imagine it was possible for a programme featuring so many naked bodies to be so incredibly dull. And the presenter is really annoying.

Deaf people being real, in a slightly staged for camera sort of way.  I don't think I've ever seen so much sarcastic signing (like you get in real life) on the telly before.  Well worth watching, even if you're just reading the subs (or listening to the AD version for a voiceover).

* Contains audist audiologists and sportsball or traces of sportsball.

ETA: Having just watched some of the AD version out of curiosity, it's bizarrely flat.  That's what you get when you have voice-over people (presumably with AD expertise) reading out the subtitles, rather than BSL interpreters translating the conversation to English.

The Imitation Game - Alan Turing played by cumberbatch is on this evening, which means I can miss the third episode of the secret agent and binge watch them later.

How are you finding The Secret Agent? I like most of the components, but (after 2 Eps) its just not drawing me in.

It may be because its like "regular" spy stuff, but in a very different era; and I'm thus not very clear on the motivations of people. Maybe.

Not tonight, but supposedly sometime this month, series 4 of Ripper Street will be on the BBC.  First episode heavily edited - or maybe split into 2 on the beeb - as it's 2hrs+ long.

Inside The Factory does bicycles.  Soz, it was on last night but I didn't find out about it until this morning.  On iPlayer for another 4 weeks.

Monday night, 21:00 BBC 2 - Ripper Street series 4 begins.

And tonight, 5 of 6 of Full Steam Ahead.  I've enjoyed this more than I expected (though I generally do enjoy the Goodman/Ginn/Langlands programmes)

Actually, if you haven't watched it, don't bother.  It's mostly shit, and has a red-trousered hipster.  In it.  I have mostly managed to avoid mockney bellend Gregg Wallace up to now and will take precautions to do the same in future.

Looks right up my street. Starts Friday.

Just caught up with this, enjoyed it :)

Pingu guessed the end about 3 episodes in, as usual...

I'm currently watching "Extreme Wales" on BBC1 Wales. Seeing Richard Parks ride from the Brecon Beacons to the top of Snowden.

He's switching between a MTB and a road bike and even with the weather being very welsh, it still looks stunning!

I dont really get Modern and/or Conceptual Art, so I would rarely watch a BBC4 prog on such an artist. But this programme was different; I guess because its more the story of a man (a rather unusual one, admittedly). It was certainly as strange as the blurb suggested. I only caught the 2nd half, which was oddly moving:

If anyone here actually knows anything about Parks, I'd like to hear from them.

The Burrows snippets were worth it.  Just wish I'd been in Cambridge that day to try his bike, I have a feeling I'd have been one of a small group.

It may be worth coming to Andover Council Offices Matt.  I noticed there's an entire department devoted to him in there.
