I spotted someone riding across Tooting Common this morning, about 8.30 ish, with an ACF jersey on.

Near the cafe. I was coming the other way, about to cross Bedford Hill.

Blue bike with blue rims, and blue h*lm*t?

That'll be me, if so.

By the time I'd noticed the jersey it was too late to register the bike, but a belated hello.

Do you live down thataway ?

I live in St Ockwell and work in Sutton.

Tiger, in Kensington Gardens. He's obviously got his recumbent sorted out. I was on the grass relaxing after the gym with my bike against a tree.

Does that mean that he's going to gas her and pin her to a cork board with a big needle?

I bumped into a certain gentleman of this forum last night, who had previously ignored me at Trafalgar Square.  To save his embarassment I shan't name names... but you know who you are.

Yesterday afternoon I saw three people riding 'bents in Central/Admirals Park in Chelmsford.  Two were together, one was on his own.  Were any of them you?

I have never seen one recumbent in Chelmsford before, let alone three.

I couldn't bear to be off the bike once I had fettled copiously on Wednesday evening after work, so too the plunge and decided to do yesterdays commute en velo. Bloody wonderful! I clocked up 50miles through London at an average of 16.4mph, with only one close call by a bus, whose driver did the classic slightly overtake then pull in to stop. Luckily I was in an agressive primary and the wiggle room allowed me to brake and slip out of the narrowing gap before it got too serious.

I have strategically brought my lock and spare clothes so I can leave my suit at the office to lighten the load on Monday when I go full time cyclocommuter again. 15miles each way, taking me a little less than an hour, compared with £10 a day and 1hr30m to use public transport. No brainer really!!

I am once again infused with the love of cycling and despite the slightly sore bum*, am itching to get started again.

*It seems my 8 weeks off have somewhat diminished my 150mile Sore Bum Syndrome (SBS) resistant behind, to a much more normal level.  :-\

The sore bum and itching may be related...

Er... I may have forgotten to include that I will be cycling along the A2, through Elephant and Castle and into Clapham. Onna black roadbike, in a CycleChat jersey.

Make sure to give me a shout if you see me!

I haven't taken my recumbent to Chelmsford, but that's largely because I'm still saving up to buy it! ;D

Oh I'll own up!

Now that you're a svelte slim gym bunny I didn't recognise you from behind. You no longer fit my mental image.

There, will that do?

Which city is that?

I randomly spot people round here riding fixed. There's a guy on a pompino that commutes from Gloucester to Cheltenham, who I see on my commute if I get up early enough. I've spotted a guy on fuji track bike in town. The only forumites I have spotted are blop (commutes on a fuji track) and andrew_s. Edit: forgot maander.
