Who does she think she's fooling with all the pens? She's only a sottotenente.

Please make sure your seatbelts are fastened and your tray-tables are in the upright position.

Me too. I have a vague feeling I heard something about the first all-female submarine crew, but I certainly didn't pay enough attention to hear that it was multinational.

Anywayz, from the same site, I thought this looked funny:

I don't know what the story is coz I no parle italiano but it seems to have some potential.

Good find!  ;D

(not sure about the etiquette of trumping a Caption It photo - I'll let you and Bledlow sort that one out :P )

It's probably at least as tricky as the etiquette of groups passing solo riders, DNSing due to weather and riding perm routes without entering all combined! But equally it's been done several times. Also, trumping is only your opinion!

Not the only one. Submarines have stern and sail planes, of course.

The Italian navy's first female submariners. I thought it might provoke some witty comments.

So are they all Italian? The one second left seems to have a different uniform to the others.

The others are all wearing work gear & caps to suit. She's wearing summat more formal. One could say 'as befits an ossifer', but she's only a sottotenente & so are two of the others - the tall engineer at the back & the one on the right with pens, & stripes on her epaulettes, from the U212A submarine S526 Todaro. The one on the left is a junior rating, & the last one is a radarista.

Five of the seven Italian navy female submariners. The other two were reported to be unavailable due to being underwater somewhere. An electrician & I can't remember the other one.
