My eldest daughter bought me one of these for Christmas and it is great for carrying on the bike in a pocket and whilst folded the velcro strap can be used to attatch it to various objects, "principally a bike frame"
The small one like mine is available at IWOOT
http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/gadgets-gizmos/travel-gadgets/ultrapod/index.html
or you can get larger ones at cameramad.co.uk

I had one of these. It was great until I lost it. I could attach my camera to road signs and use the timer to get
photos of me riding past
. Also very lightweight and easy to use.
I bought it a few years ago from
Needle Sports
.

Gorillapod is another handy product - with bendy grippy legs.
