I have just commisioned a LiFePo4 charger. Flattery charging is inhibited below 1 oC
What I had not appreciated before this morning (-6 outside) is that: Condition = red BLINKENLIGHT
Apart from Too much information for the uniformed... it is just annoying.
The LED is green for normal (desired) and there is just enough room between LED and front panel for a bit of green filter gel.
Canna find anything at home, could buy some, but in the best traditions of YACF would anyone be able to spare me 10x10mm of something suitable?
BTW looking up wikipedia 'blinkenlight' made me chuckle

I'll have a dig around - but probably not until tomorrow evening.
Yes, I have green. PM me a postal addy and I'll pop it in the post tomorrow.

I’ve probably got some green colour correction gel for a camera flash. That might not be as green as you were thinking though.

There's a circle of hell for people who use bi-colour LEDs for, well, anything.
-
Just buy a box of Quality Street / Roses / other crappy sweets? Though seems Quality Street have now changed to paper wrappers instead of cellophane.

Was wondering about those tints, maybe would attenuate the red to acceptable brightness
I suspect Jureks green will black out the red

It has to be an incredibly good green gel to block red. I remember deep green filters for b/w film still allowed quite a lot of other colours through the viewfinder. Deep red only allowed red. There's probably a physics explanation.

Arrived today, magnificent attentuation of red , and some reduction in green which was always a bit too bright - Thankyou!

Result
If I have filters, they will've come from Lee Filters.
Who generally know what they are doing when it comes to light filtration.

It's been a while, but you used to be able to buy a sample book of Lee filters (complete with transmission spectra) for a couple of quid from places that sell lighting gels. Which is the sort of thing that's fun to play with in itself, but could reasonably be sacrificed for this sort of modification.
