It looks like Mrs. Hall and I will both be there, inna tandem stylee.

I shall try to avoid any fords, if only because she has a recumbent posture on our machine and goes in first.

Sounds to me like the ideal way to test the water temperature, before making a commitment.

I won't be able to make this one- and I still have the rear light Delthebike so kindly lent to me.  If any SE Londoners are going, maybe I could drop off the light for them to deliver?  (I presume you are attending the next WARTY, Del?
As long as you realise I'm charging by the hour.  ;)
FNRttC, April 9, I thought you were going to hand it back then?

Oh- of course- April 4th- April 9th- as the years go by and brain cells die off at an ever increasing rate without adequate replacement, I seem to find the little things so much harder to cope with.  Yes- still intending to be on the FNRttC- see you then

Going to leave SoS 0545-0600 and take this route, Clicky, to the cafe near Sawbridgeworth station. TOKaMaK and bobb, if you want I'll collect you on the way through C'ford, 0715-0730, I'll call you when I get to Great Baddow (will get a snack from one of the garages there) for a meet at the lights of Chignall Rd. and Roxwell Rd.
Without any problems we should get to the cafe around 0845-0900, a second/third breakfast, and thence to the station for the 1000 start.

The cafe is here, Clicky.

I started looking at the map, and working out if I could cycle from Croydon direct, and not bother with a train, it's only 36 miles.  Oh my gods, I'm suffering from Delthebike-Teethgrinder Syndrome. :-[ ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

Your on the verge of talking yourself into it! If you didn't really want to ride up you would have said
"It's 36 miles! Feck off! I'll stay in bed and extra 2.5 hours and get a train!"

Do it! You know you want to.  ;)

You live quite near to me - maybe we could ride up together?

Like heck I will!  I've got me train tickets, and I'm inordiantely excited about that ;D
Getting there...

On reflection, I think my more normal WARTY mileage of 74 miles should be sufficient, rather than 122!  It does get a bit daft when the trip there and back is more than the ride itself. :-\ ;D

Since the evening before will be the YACF Birthday Party thingy, I'll have double my normal mileage to get home via the Sekrit Bunker, so bunging in some additional mileage on Saturday seems ill advised (and I must remember to sort out the route from the Sekrit Bunker to Chez Timo).

So, who will be meeting up at Liverpool Street for groupsave ticketing goodness?
Actually, it is rocket science.

Picnic time!
Lets all camp on the green, if there is one, or any nearby area of green, and have a picnic.

I saw that and thought "No-one would run a business based upon opening only one day a month!" and didn't check. I will do so.

Mrs. Wow and I will be a Lpoo St. fairly early on Saturday, making our way back from Sexual Ealing.

Not sure that link is up to date   :(

This place is used as a control on the Stevenage rides and last time I was there it did not look very "open"

WJ and I will be arriving by car, please wait for us in case we get lost/hijacked/abducted by aliens.  ;D

I'll go for the burger. I assume we can decide about desserts when we're actually there!

Yum yum yum.

Put me down for the Oyster mushroom, leek & pine nut parcels.

It's possible I may also consider trying all of the desserts.

I'll need the calories, as it will end up being a 200km ride.

I'll go for the "Steak Guinness & mushroom pie with mash or hand cut chips & vegetables", and also put in for the "Sticky toffee pudding" as well please.

Currently at work, and drooling thinking of this food!  By the time I get home tonight, it'll be so late, I won't have an appetite left, or much inclination to do any cooking. :(

Should I remember to pack a Thermos and sticky bun from Sainsburys for Elevenses?

Still no word from the Swan.

If you have no luck with The Swan, I think that there is a coffee shop in Buntingford. Turn right at the T junction at the bottom of th hill. Then right on a left hand bend and I think there's one up there.

The Hare Street 11ses is indeed open only 1st Sunday of month. I tried to talk her into opening just for us and I think she would have done except she has a farmer's market to attend.

If we can find that we could get a cup of tea!
