Current weather forecast suggests that those riding today are getting the best deal.  Hope you have a good time!

Exceedingly good weather, if a little windy.  I've got sunburnt legs, hands, and face.  ;D
Here is an example menu to give the Wartiers a sample of what could be on offer. Plus the usual suspects of baguettes, soup, jackets, etc.

See you brave souls on Sat.

Yes, a very good day. 66 miles of splendid weather.

The fruit and chocolate flapjack at Paper Mill Lock is probably the most calorific cake in the Universe. There is a new batch being baked tomorrow afternoon so hopefully there will be enough for all. The pieces are HOOJ.

I'm fresh out of the shower and have found that my throat is bad again so I have consumed some A'bunadh to see if I can make it better.

Send the money. We'll eat the meal and let you know how good it was and how well a pint of Fireside went down with it.   ;)

Bugger, stop making me hungry.  I'm going to have to wander down to Sainsburys and see what they've got that I can microwave and eat in the office.
Actually, it is rocket science.

I hate to say this, chaps & chapesses, but I must be regarded as doubtful for this ride.

Since my excellent outing with Del yesterday my cold and sore throat have returned. The forecast is not wonderful.

I've put a route online - or should we postpone to next weekend in the hope of better weather?

Sorry to hear that you're enlurgied Wow.

If it moves to next Saturday, I won't be able to do it, the previous night is the last official FNRttC of the year.

This is probably as good a time as any for me to say that unfortunately Pippa and myself are going to be no-shows tomorrow.  :(

Emily and I are still probables.  And I've just taken delivery of a new waterproof, begging for a test-ride  :).

Hope the lurgy goes into retreat soon.

OK - I propose to postpone. Sorry Tim.

Of course, the route's there and it is very nice if any of the original party want to go ahead with the ride.

Not a WARTY ride, leaving Wickford station 1000ish tomorrow. Any takers?

I was planning on doing the ride anyway, so unless the weather is persistently heavy, I'm still up for it.

At the moment the weather looks like we may have a little drizzle, and moderate wind, but nothing too inclement.

I'm still up for it, I think.

As long as I won't be on my own.

And as long as Del doesn't trick me into climbing to the top of Danbury hill again.

It's virtually all down hill and all the uphill sections have a lower gravity score. TimO will bring some extra gravity from work so we don't float away on the uphill bits.  ::-)

I'm glad you are still doing the ride.

I'm suffering from pain in the throat, right ear and my sinuses. Whisky calls.

By the way, have any of you chaps coming tomorrow got a spare handlebar stem I could borrow?

I have this cunning scheme for a new Garmin Mount from the boom of my trike and I think a handlebar stem would be just the ticket. Before committing to spend good money (£10-£15, several beer tokens) I'd quite like to check that it works and that I can see the Garmin properly. If anyone has one they can bring along so I could have a go, I would be much appreciated.

I assume you mean this type?

with these, or similar, dimensions
# Fork clamp diameter: 28.6mm (1" 1/8)
# Clamp: 26.0mm
I have such a thing, but you can't keep it if it works.

Yep, I mean that although I am not very good with a measuring thingie so don't know if it's the right size. The bit of the trike that I want to clamp it onto has the derailleur for the front chainrings so I assume it's the same diameter as the seatpost.

If your Magic Bag can carry it so I could have a quick look if it fits on my bike, that'd be good. If it's currently attached to a bike then don't worry about it, I'll take a trip to Halfords next week probably.

I'll bring it, it's not attached to a bike atm.
