Looks like the 11th is the better date then!

And everyone is welcome,  speed is not an issue, when we've sorted a start place , I'll do a route that allows for a leisurely pace  and is scenic but avoids the worst of the hills.

I'd like to come along if I may?  :)

the usual yacf "all comers" policy is established

This is confusing.

I thought there was a probably fnrttc on the 17th, going through some of the country you've mentioned.

The Wolds Ride,ie this thread is for the 11th Sept AIUI

The fnrttc is the following weekend, the 17th Sept.

HTH

Yep, two rides.  One in the daylight, one at nighttime.  This thread is for the Wolds ride only

I'll post a route in the next day or two

But it'll start and finish at Stamford Bridge ,  some good car parking, or its an easy ride out from York for those catching the train. Then a 40 0r 50 mile route with at least one cafe stop and one pub stop

Is a 10.00am start ok for everyone?

10 is fine for me, and I think I can get a pass for this one.  Are you expecting to go through Pock?  I'm wondering if a CrinklyCub might be able to tag along - he absolutely loved going on the Warty to Edwardstone, as it's much more fun to ride with real cyclists rather than just your mum.  He's slow, but not much slower that me :)  And if we went through Pock he could just go that far, then go see his Granny and get a lift back home!

I could arrange a route that goes through Pock if needs be. For a small cake consideration ;D

Now that's simply not true.  My cakes are very restrained in size, and have been demonstrated to fit neatly in a jersey pocket.  Which means that I have to pack a few in my pannier....

I'm looking a little unlikely for this too now as we think we may have to take THE BOY to uni and get him settled and last thing I want to do is pull out last minute. S We have the night ride the week after, and we're getting very thin on the ground for this one, I'm now postponing it until some future date.

Just as I'd got a pass out for 11th Sept to come down for my first YACF ride too...  Ah well, I'll have to see if I can swop it for the following Friday night...

You'll be very welcome on the Friday night ride. apologies if I've messed up your passes, but it is only postponed, I'm hoping on an October date

On last weekend's ride MiddlesborughMan remarked,as the heavens opened,

It's not a proper ride is it? if it doesn't rain

'twas funny:perhaps it was one of those you-had-to-be-there moments.
So we can do rain.

Middlesbrough Man?!  You must mean me - but I'm Not Middlesbrough, thankfully.  I've been there approximately 5 times.  And one of those was to watch Darlo play...

I realise it is taking a liberty with your origins but it sort of rolls off the tongue. ;)

Gah.  Knew I shouldn't have mentioned it - it would have slithered into obscurity if I hadn't drawn attention to it.

Postponed until when ? I am on holibobs for two weeks now and might be able to fit a ride in diy permitting.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.
