Noticed that quite a few riders are dropping out so is this ride still being run?
Climb every mountain, onwards and upwards.

Myself ( and I guess some other riders) are doing the Centurion 100k. EDIT: The Grimpeur option runs something like
Daglingworth
Upton St Leonards
Painswick
Nympsfield ( this sounds a great place)
N Nibley (village hall)
Kingscote
Minchinhampton
Daglingworth

Suspect this is to the North of your route, but I don't know the area ...

That look like quite a different route from when I did it in '07.

Nympsfield has the distinction of having the first (only?) wind turbine in Gloucestershire. You'll be equidistant from Jaded Towers and the Flatus Burrow there.

I am still intending to make another attempt to join a forum ride. I shall examine my train ticket very closely later.

Is there anyone else doing this on fixed? I can't recall how hilly it is or otherwise. Don't want to hold anyone up with my hill-walking.

You should be fine, there will be a couple of places where you may well walk, but unless you go the hilly way back from the Thunderbox stop, you'll be OK.

Ah, come on sarge, you'll be fine. I've done a full 150 mile commuting week this week and I'll be lugging a big bag of crap round with me so ain't gonna be racing. I can never keep up with Adamski anyway.

I had to apply WinGDB3 to get the routes (or at least the full route) to work on my HCx. Is that the case for anyone else?

I've got them onto my 305 and I've also downloaded a main road bash from Gloucester to Stroud. Now just need to get the 305 onto the bike!

I thought we could do this: Bicycle Path - GL-STR at Bikely.com

GPS sorted, bag packed (I hope the curry house isn't posh), bike fettled, trains checked.  Just need to finish this bottle of whisky and I'm ready. :D

Well I was going to bring along my new Schmidt hub tomorrow but tonight's fettling wasn't entirely successful. I got the new Durano Plus tyre onto the rim OK (with help of my son holding the first bit on for me, what are kids for eh?). Tried fitting the Cyo to the canti mount which was a very good position and all Ok except that if I tighten the bolt enough to hold the lamp firm them that side's brake pad doesn't move when I brake. I hadn't twigged this is a moving part of the V brake up until now. Tried mounting to the head of fork next but unfortunately I am lacking a long enough bolt to go through the bracket, a gazillion washers that would be needed, and then the mudguard and nut at the back. Had a look at my bolt collection in the garage and realised these are all for fettling cars or DIY and none of them are in bikey sizes.
I am torn between adding one of those canti bridge thingies to mount the lamp off, getting a much longer bolt for the canti then attaching the bracket to the end of it with some kind of nut so the lamp can't move but the canti still can, getting a longer bolt for fork crown mounting (which might be fouled by my bar bag), or ordering a chronometro nob and mount from Peter White (who doesn't approve of my forks because he says they are plastic  :o ).

Either way had to stick back on my normal from wheel for tomorrow as I lack the hardware to attach the light currently.

Also realised that connecting the wiring seems to need some sort of heat gun to shrink the plastic onto the cables. Since I don't own said gadget was wondering if I can use a cigarette lighter or even my hairdryer????

At risk of living up to a stereotype, heat shrink tubing is the only reason my hairdrier has seen any use in the last 5 years.  Full heat, point-blank range, should do the job nicely without burning anything.

A silly-long long M5 bolt (cut to length with a hacksaw) and an assortment of random washers did the business for mounting the Cyo on the fairly chunky fork of my Dawes hybrid.  I'd say fork crown beats canti mount for not having a wheel shadow, assuming there isn't a bar bag issue.  It's certainly worth a try, on the basis that you should be able to find one reasonably cheaply in any decent hardware shop.  Or B&Q.
