So who's in for this ? Apart from me n T n CL, obv.

And do I need to formalise a route, or are we just gonna make it up as we go?

I do believe SlowCoach has this in his diary too.

I'm in. The confusion about whether or not I'm telling my better half that I'm going on these rides has now been sorted. I've been faithfully putting them all into the boss's google calendar - only to discover that she's not looked at it for 6 months...

I now have access to her current electronic calendar so have updated it with this ride too. I was considering putting a block booking in - every day from now to the end of the year, but thought better of it. I've now entered: York Rally, Friday night ride to Tan Hill, Dunwich Dynamo, this ride, Friday night ride to Hull... What am I missing?

Possibly - may need to get a pass out from SWMBO, though, given that there's the Tan Hill ride on the 2nd, I'm off down to Burton-On-Trent for a gig on the 9th and have various other odds and sods that will invariably need attending to.

Since my plan to do York-Cambridge-York over August Bank Holiday is now a go-er (rather than early September) I need all the miles I can muster between now and then.

Given a late start I'll probably drive up to the start (subject to there being somewhere semi-safe to leave the car) so would be able to take another 1+bike from York.

I can offer you parking on our drive, very sae, I have left my bike in my car on our drive for days at a time before now, and nary a problem.

Nominal distance is 610km - about as flat as it gets once you're over The Bridge.

True.  But I'm sure judicious cropping would keep you out of bother.

I'm supposed to be working the Saturday but have asked a friend to swap shifts. I'd love to do another night ride. Just need to wait for him to phone me back.

I'm as in as I'm ever likely to be at this stage - hopefully by then I'll have a bright orange bike with canned gears. If I'm feeling fit/reckless1 I may ride up to Northallerton for the off and then get the train from Saltburn or Redcar back to Bishop Awkward and go see the parents.

EDIT: Just had an email from Chain Reaction - should have my Alfine fitting kit tomorrow, so headology permitting I'm in.

A fact I'm acutely aware of ...  :-\
I have a Plan forming, involving bikes, visits to my parents and, no doubt, a humongous stack of orange cardboard, but I'm not sure if I've got the mojo to carry it off.

At least the bike works properly.

I have not forgotten. I haven't blotted my copy book yet, and still have a pass out. I've been keeping away from the Friday Night Ride to the Smoke thread, cos it clashes.

Remind me - where do I have to get tickets back from - is it Saltburn? (I know, I'm too lazy to go back to the start of the thread)

I believe so, yes.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Saltburn-Bishop Awkward service still exists, so won't have to worry as much if/when I fall asleep during the journey :)
