Shame.. see you later in the year. Drossall and I are still coming your way. (suspect lurgy is on the way for me)  What is the turnout like Jethro?

    Saturday

Aside from the odd fog patch, it will be a bright, frosty start to a fine day with largely sunny skies and light winds. Quickly turning frosty after dusk.

Sorry about those who can't make it, but I am well stoked for this!

Do we know roughly what time the ride might finish?

(Any answer should factor in my, let's say, relaxed riding style).

Depends how long you lot stay in ye pubbe. 30 miles 10mph = 3 hours + lunch+ oooh and aaaaah factors as in Lichfield Cathedral. As you can see its a strenuous affair.

Is it that 'ooh and ahh'-worthy?
Serious question, and since I grew up in Durham I have high standards in the cathedrals department ;)

This is Mercian heartland and yes I think so it is pretty gob smacky. There is a poor soul buried in the grounds who fell off building the thing. What intrigues me is that the cathedral square was loyalist and the rest of the town was Parliamentarian for the whole of the Civil war. How the hell that worked I just do not comprehend.

Hm.
A cursory image search and a glance at That Wiki later and I'd agree that it's rather impressive - definitely worth a closer look if the opportunity presents itself.

It's not warm in Brum really, 3C with weather widget saying feels like 0.5C...  I'm INdoors waiting for agency's handyman to look at the bathroom.

Well, I almost made it for the ride but circumstances were against me.
Set off with plenty of time in hand for the ride to Sutton Park. Had a puncture after six miles and on inspection found a nasty cut that had gone all the way through the tyre. Changed the inner tube, pumped up the tyre and continued. After another mile the tube blew out :(
Found a piece of flexible plastic at the side of the road and used it as a tyre boot. Inserted my other spare inner tube.
Decided that it wasn't a good idea to continue with no more spare tubes and a dodgy tyre and turned back.
Hope you all have an enjoyable days biking.

I rode over to Fradley junction on the route I thought you'd use but missed you all somehow.

What a lovely day. Good breakfast at the café, lovely route, great weather, spiffing café stop, more lovely route and great weather.

Oh and bostin' company.

It was sick.

(Not  but )

Thank you so much Jethro for organising this. I really appreciated it.
