If Slowcoach isn't bringing one, maybe borrow EldestCub's? Assuming he has the gas to go with it.

If you're desperate, I could deliver one to the station. What time does your train come through Darlo?

I'd love to be joining you, but a) I currently live in scotland, b) have family and c) have a job I can't get away from (ditto about the family). Looks like a warm night, hope you guys have a great ride!

My lurgy seems to be easing off just in time for the ride (it hit a week early, this year).  Humbug.

Knowing how you guys like a challenge...

If any of you see a lady in Whitby wearing a long voluminous coat made of a patchwork of cut up black woolly sweaters, ask her if she's Woolly Pedlar, and say SueArcher6 says hello...

(We're Twitter pals...)

Have a great ride. Once again, it looks like the weather will be kind.

Nah, we'll cope, I'm sure. I can pick up some snacks en-route to the start if needed. How many people are definitely coming?

I'll probably be at the station by 11, after a quick stop at the Den.

Oh, and if some guy turns up with a Moulton and a north east accent, that'll be Socks. I wasn't expecting him, though.

Phanta - if you end up on your tod we can always toast marshmallows from the 24 hour garage on the gas cooker in the Den and then ride to Naburn for lunch tomorrow!

I'll make a batch of....something.  Flapjack?  Coffee cake?  Banana cake?  Any is possible, and could be ready before you set off!

Thanks CL - it's not looking promising, but I'm pretty much past the point of no return train-wise anyhow!

I'm not really sure it's worth baking, though!

Yeah, I want to know how fast he goes down Blue Bank...   :demon:

(And since when did CL need an excuse for baking?)

I'd bet on painfully slow or terrifyingly, eyeball-poppingly fast. Nothing inbetween.

Oops, forgot about Slowcoach!

Well, I'm going to turn up anyway. I would still like to do the ride -I don't want to have fitted the dynohub for nothing!

Oh lordy - dropping like flies!  Commiserations to the lurgied.

Hmmm - is that an omen for the ride?  :demon:

I don't need to catch a train until just before 10 - and I'm still planning to come over.  Just guessing - you may well have your tail-end Charlie, by sort of default.   ;)

Aye ....... but no problems if you'd rather let it drop.

Wow - just realised that the Black Death seems to have struck early this year...

Phanta - I'm still intending to come - just doing a quick rethink on what I'll need to bring. I have stove and meths (mini-trangia). It's not worth me bringing the gas stove cos I don't have any gas... I'll throw in some coffee and sugar (if I can find any sachets). You'll have to drink it black though unless someone brings milk.

I've also downloaded a route onto my gps. It doesn't go via Rosedale Chimney, but I'm not sure that it's the preferred route to Malton. It looks like if Phanta takes the lead I can happily do Tail End Charlie (but is there anyone in between us? - can't work this out from the dropouts since I last logged on last night.

Excellent - looks like we're on, then.

I don't think we'll really need a TEC, given the numbers -but if two of us have the route in our GPSes, that minimises the chances of getting lost.  Possibly.

I feel bad not being there.

Just said to Arch I wish I could drive over and follow with the car in case of incidents and as return to York transport.

Have a good ride everyone.

Heading off to the station now. This could be interesting. Had to do a last minute repack and the bike handling appears to be somewhat different. Wish me luck on the hill p to the station...

I appear to have some classic flapjack cooling in the kitchen.  And some C&W flapjack in the oven...
