Whenever Erith is mentioned a line from Linda Smith comes to mind:

It's not twinned with anywhere, but it does have a suicide pact with Dagenham.
We could ride through both!

I'm toying with a few possibilities, to be explored Sunday or Monday (please let it be dry for a few days!).  BTW, are you in?

Unlikely.
I have a family event to attend the following day, where I could do without looking like Uncle Fester and sounding like blablablablablablablablablablablabla  (and that's before the alcohol has kicked in...)
Happy to provide armchair advice in the interim, if that is what's required...

Sadly out. 10pm start is impossible for me without time off, and that's wasn't going to be possible at short notice. I could get the after-work train into Waterloo (arrives ten to eleven) and chase you down, but that would be a bit daft. Even for me.

NOTE: start time changed to 23:00.

Also, we will not be heading out to Erith for a plethora of reasons.  (If anyone is interested in exploring the Thames paths east of Woolwich drop me a line and we can make arrangements.)

There are been expressions of interest, but no firm commitments.  If you intend on riding please let me know ASAP.

Please be aware there will be no ferry service at Woolwich - we'll be using the foot tunnel.  If either lift is out of order there are quite a few stairs (did a quick search but can't find the number).

I might be am up for this, in which case and so a coffee/refreshments/loo break in SE7 would will be available, though it might be a bit early in the ride.

Also, we will not be heading out to Erith

Boo.

I'm sure it looks nicer in the dark.

I selfishly hope this will be a success - unfortunately the dates don't work for me, but I'm hoping to be able to tag along on a future edition...

I've only just noticed this, and I'm insane enough to think it sounds fun!

It would make a very interesting end to a short working week.  I'm in, unless there's some strong reason why you don't want me!

Hmm, what do I need to find . . .

Given it's That London, I won't bother using Red, and just use my bog standard single speed Viking commuter, which has the benefit of having a rack, so I just chuck stuff into a pannier!
Actually, it is rocket science.

I'm hoping that (i) there won't be just the one disguised bollard on this route (ii) del doesn't notice you're doing it (iii) I've learnt to be more paranoid when I'm not riding alone.

Having said that, I should probably program a few more hospitals into my GPS. ;D

Still in! I won't buy a ticket in advance because there is no price reduction for so doing on the Saarfend-Lunnon routes.

Of course, with perfect timing, my Exposure front light has decided to start playing silly buggers and has become difficult to turn on and is randomly turning itself off.

I'm still not 100% sure what it's doing, so I'm going to email Exposure and ask them.  I've got the smaller Exposure Joystick, but I'm losing my redundancy to failure!

After still behaving a little oddly this morning, the front light now appears to be back to normal, so I'll have to attribute its behaviour to unfortunate water ingress caused by the torrential downpour I got caught in leaving work yesterday evening.

Hopefully there won't be any similar heavy rain in the intervening time prior to the ride !

I think I need to dig out a camp-stove, so I've got the makings of tea and/or coffee to bring with me. ;D

For reference, this is the route that Andrij used four years ago, albeit in daylight.

Presumably a combination of construction work and the exigencies of cycling it in darkness, will result in some changes.

Hmm, I hope this isn't going to be a shewee ride...

ETA: Ah, there's a 24 hour Tesco in Woolwich, if there aren't any better halfway loos planned.

I can offer a comfort break at Limehouse Town Hall. Also the greasy spoon cafe opposite opens at 5am.

I'm still up for doing the ride :)
