Odd, the distance appears to be measured in milliliters.  I wonder what the liquid is?

That profile is giving me pause for thought.

It's only Hampshire.  We don't go over 250 metres on the ride and that profile has probably got a 10x exaggeration.

Lots of short, sharp hills and a couple of longer ones (Butser and Harting).

We won't be racing, I think we'll all be plodding/wheezing up them in low gears.  I know I will.

have been polaxed by the 'man flu' .....hoping to be back in the saddle for Sunday as the ride, conditions and peleton look too good to miss.  fingers crossed.

I thought you had gone quiet. Make sure you eat plenty of bacon and pies. I find it always helps  ;D

This is the profile from Fugawi. It will be a toughish ride  but as I said before nothing that someone who has completed a hilly 100k can't do.

It starts on top of Portsdown Hill and ends up in Denmead so overall it's downhill.

For some it starts at the bottom of Portsdown Hill and finishes at the bottom of Portsdown Hill.

My bikely calculation (5400ft) makes it considerably less than Mr UBs 8000ft of climbing.

Has his system included the ascent incurred getting out of the sadlle?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

So it's a flat ride overall.

REFRESHMENT STOP UPDATE:

The Fox & Hounds does not close during the day on Sunday but does not serve food in the evening.

Mick's Burger Van will close on Christmas Day and reopen Boxing Day.

Assuming we leave by 9:30 from Micks

Don't forget it may be 0930 by the time I get there after which a swift bacon sandwich might be required for me to have any hope of ending the morning without a gurny face on.  :P

I'm a fast eater though.

Good, coz if we are too late getting away from Mick's that might be all we get to eat all day.

Call one of us from the bottom of Portsdown hill as you cross over the A3(M) bridge and place your order.  We could have it waiting.

As I'm going to need to drive down, is the burger van car park a car park where I'll be able to leave the car, unmolested, for eight hours or so?

It is a reasonably public place so I guess you should be OK - although you may get it molested by seaguls.

No worries. If there is time to eat, I will, but if everyone else is just waiting for the non-locals to show up, I'll be ready to ride.

Weather forecast is now suggesting FOG for Sunday afternoon which should make things interesting. The good news is that its very still and not wet, any sunshine will be a bonus.

We should be able to meet you all at the Fox and Hounds, I'm under medical orders to do some long rides , but I won't be joining you for the Joy of Sex Six Five Hills as I'm too slow and unfit.
