La-La (Means I Love You) by the Delfonics.

I know it best from Todd Rundgren's version on A Wizard, A True Star.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

You get ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah several times in Paloma Faith's New York

Tom's Diner (DNA version)

I played that to a friend once and he commented horrified "aagh they've ruined it"

I agreed; it was much better without the singing

Not sure I understand the question - are we actually talking about "best use of" or just "best song with la-la-las in it"?

Either way, I nominate David Watts by the Kinks (or the Jam, if you like).

Have we had "I predict a Riot" yet?

Laaaa la laaaaaaaaa la la la la la laaaaaaaaa

It's a cracker. I was trying to remember which Kaiser Chiefs song it was that had that bit in it but couldn't put my finger on it. Slightly thrown off because the la-la-la bits are so different to the chorus.

I remember singing a rude version as a child, but singing tra-la-la etc when it got to the rude punch line
