Anyone with Experience of Vonage or Similar?
« on: 20 August, 2011, 09:43:17 am »
I was thinking of changing from Virgin to a VOIP service like Vonage.

We are currently spending getting on for £25/month for line rental, unlimited landline calls package, cheaper mobile calls package etc. so looking to change.

Vonage sems a good option as I can port my current landline number to them & for £5.99/month I get unlimited uk landline calls.

I would also get CID & anonymous caller rejection which would cost another £5 on Virgin.

Interested!

I've been looking on the website though, and can't find anything about line rental. Is it necessary to continue paying rental to BT?

Yes if you have an ADSL service but not if on Virign as the broadband is a seperate line to the house.

But if you are paying for the line for ADSL then it's really down to the amount you spend on calls.

OK - looks like with my calling patterns, better of moving to BT anytime.
