Spmewhere were they have fulmars and shags?  Farne Islands or Lindisfarne.

Farne Islands it is.  That peacock was a red herring, it was sitting on the roof of the cottage where we stayed.

A very, very cute little fledgeling wren...I was doing some wood-turning with my pole lathe and they fledged and were fluttering about and seemed to be very puzzled by this flying thing that they suddenly seemed to be able to do, not very well.  Grabbed the camera and got a few shots.  This is the cutest.  I quite like the little residual downy feather on his head.

Spinning, but not cycling...

You've been for a shag?

A heron sunning itself at Derwenthaugh Park.

(There was a dipper in the beck as well, but the photos were rubbish)

They are after the Rowan berries. If the Waxwings come back there'll be none left for them.

J, I think I recognise fieldfares, but is the one above a female sparrowhawk?

We think they are fieldfares too, and I know there are sparrowhawks about, but it didn't give me much chance!

mcshroom and my breakfast companion from yesterday, the camera-shy Dipper.  I had to hide behind a tree at a great distance to get these, they were taken a good 20 feet away, which is why the resolution isn't great.  Dippers are so funny, every time they Dip, they squeak, as though their knees need oiling.  A bit like me, really.

Black redstart? Their song is weird, with a 'break' part way through for the sound of some frying bacon.
