I may have posted this before but anyway:
Recently the kids bought me & mrs tiger a lunch at Petrus. It was a sublime experience - service at that level makes one feel so special.
But what struck me was the Chinese family at the table next to us. Clearly very wealthy. They were doing a 10 day tour of European michelin ** restaurants - lunch and dinner - and at each restaurant n the tour they get their certificate signed by the chef to prove it. Apparently the point is the certificate not the actual experience.
The SIL spent the meal on 2 mobiles simultaneously - texting and talking, which was odd. He ate the various elements of the meal as they arrived in one mouthful without looking at it.
'Strordinary.
