Can't see anything remotely interesting about this apartfrom they intend to remove unused road signs.

That looks a lot like the Boulevard de Clichy in Paris, minus the sex shops and peep shows.

The long-term removal of the Bow Flyover.


Fluid has completed its design brief for the high street from Aldgate to Stratford (A11).

I hope it gets fully implemented because for many people in East London this will be the real visible legacy in their neighbourhoods.


 In addition it will create a true link between the City and Stratford, in particular for cyclists!

Even if Parliament Square will still be a national disgrace with its temporary security barriers, hyper clutter and narrow pavements, at least East London will look for the better in 2012.


This project does as much for regeneration as the complete Olympic Park.

I love how architects always assume that the cars will mysteriously evaporate from their lovingly rendered streetscenes.

I love the plans for Exhibition Road - well done K&C for having the guts to try despite opposition from Government and the usual suspects amongst the motoring organisations!

I've seen similar schemes in use elsewhere and they work well.  And they have tended to produce reduced levels of motor traffic.  In part because drivers avoid the areas and in part because some of the journeys previously undertaken by car because other methods were considered 'unsafe' were subsequently undertaken by those other means.

I'm not sure if this is one of the 'Cycling Super Highways'.

It's a grim road to cycle down, a horrible, grimy, traffic-choked gateway to The City.

Anything that gets rid of flyovers is a good thing.  They're an inhuman sop to the gods of traffic flow and they degrade everything around them.

If it came to a choice between riding over the Bow flyover and negotiating the A11/A12 roundabout underneath it, I'd go for the flyover every time.  In fact, I did, for about seven years,

I agree with the Lord Mayor, the Bow Flyover is much better than tackling the roundabout beneath it.

And those artists' impressions are pure fantasy - there's not a single pedestrian walking in the cycle lane!

Look at where the bike symbol is on the path.

That path simply has trees growing at the side - like a lot paths that we cycle along in the countryside.
