Get the tent up on Friday & sort it out in the morning.

Anyone fancy that Indian place we went to last time, or shall we just see what happens ?
With the cafe on site I don't think I'll bother bringing breakfast stuff 🍽

I was pondering if, as there will be a car or two available, we should do a chip shop run.   It's traditional for Fridays you know.   :D

Are we still up for a ride around the pond with a half time picnic?

I think that we'll be there around 2 to 3p.m.  All depends upon my herding a mllePB.

Just been chatting to Loadsabikes.  He is planning to drop in on Friday evening on his way home from Rugby.  How did I not get a life... ???

Mrs Miggins has volunteered to offer a support wagon on Saturday for the ride so if folk want to make up a picnic, bung a comfy chair, parasol, stove and brew kit, etc. into the wagon they will be most welcome to.

The sedately paced Saturday ride plan is loosely to circumnavigate the puddle in an anticlockwise direction and stop at Whitwell for lunch, be it your own picnic or the cafe there.  There is plenty of seating and also loos as well as lots of grass to spread out upon.   I'll be looking for a grassy patch near to trees for welcome shade.

Continuing in an anticlockwise direction after lunch there is the option of riding the Hambleton peninsula, and/or, possibly more tempting to many, pressing on for afternoon refreshment at The Horse and Jockey at Manton.   It is my understanding that it is a very fine public house*

We are also planning to stay until Monday so I am lookign forward to a very relaxing Sunday.

Who else is coming?   I have in my head:

Cycleman
Apollo
Torslanda
Canardly
Andrewc
Polar Bear
mllePB
Tigerbiten
Kim

Any more takers?

Oh, please bring cameras.  It should be a very photogenic weekend and it would be nice to have lots of pictures for the thread to tempt more people out for future trips.   8)

*  I've never been there before Guv, honest...

Not I.  This is the weekend I couldn't do, on account of the ALC meet.

Mike, I am coming and will arrive by train and bike about 5 on Friday.  I have booked a pitch for Friday but will be sans tent until Tors arrives.  My plan has changed and I hope to stay Saturday night, too, and go home with Tors on the Sunday.  Looking forward to it, as, no doubt, are you - now!

Peter,

It will be, as ever, great to see you.

I am only surprised that you feel able to stick it for two nights ...   ;)

It's fair to say that Apollo is very pleased with his new bike.   He's taken it into his tent and he's still awake.

Top job Torslanda - thank you for making it happen.
