Supernova dynamo lights
« on: 07 November, 2017, 08:23:53 am »

Payday arrived and I was all ready to hit buy on a Supernova E3 Pro 2 bike light. Only to discover that they seem to have become unobtanium. Only SJS seems to have them in stock, and the shipping to .nl is a bit steep. All the German and Dutch suppliers seem to have no stock.

The E3 Pure on the other hand seems to be slightly cheaper, and in stock. But if I'm reading this right, it's an always on light. Which is going to be a pain, as I was hoping to use it along side an USB-WERK that can charge My Devices™ during day light, and then turn the light on at night.

Does anyone know why the Supernova E3 Pro 2 has disappeared? Has anyone experience of the E3 Pure? I find myself wondering how hard it would be to put a switch inline with the pure so that I can turn it on and off...

I recently bought a second hand E3 Pure, its a nice looking light but the performance is distinctly unimpressive in this day and age, it works and its adequate but there are cheaper lights that are much better in terms of lighting.
I plan on adding a switch to the circuit at some point after the winter.
